For those doing Blended Learning:
How to Complete Your HeartCode Blended Learning Course
HeartCode is a blended learning course that combines online coursework with a required in-person Skills Session. Please complete each step below before your certification can be finalized.
Step 1: Complete the AHA HeartCode Online Course
Register for and complete the appropriate American Heart Association HeartCode online course.
You must finish all assigned online modules and receive your HeartCode completion certificate before completing your in-person Skills Session.
Please save a digital or printed copy of your completion certificate.
Step 2: Register for Our Supplemental Zoom Review
After registering with Point Rescue CPR, you may attend our live Zoom review session.
The Zoom session is an additional educational resource designed to:
-
Review important concepts covered in HeartCode
-
Answer student questions
-
Provide a refresher before the in-person Skills Session
-
Help students feel more prepared for hands-on practice and testing
The Zoom session does not replace the official AHA HeartCode online course or the required in-person Skills Session.
Step 3: Join the Scheduled Zoom Session
Use the Zoom link provided in your registration confirmation or course instructions.
Please join on time and be prepared to participate, ask questions, and review the course material.
Attending the Zoom session alone does not complete the certification process.
Step 4: Call to Schedule Your In-Person Skills Session
After completing HeartCode and attending the Zoom review, call Point Rescue CPR to schedule your required in-person appointment.
Please have the following information available when calling:
-
Your full name
-
The HeartCode course you completed
-
Your preferred appointment date and time
-
Your HeartCode completion certificate
Step 5: Attend Your In-Person Skills Session
Bring your HeartCode completion certificate to your scheduled appointment.
During the in-person session, you will complete:
-
Hands-on skills practice
-
Instructor-observed skills testing
-
The required Skills Testing Checklist
-
The required examination or quiz, when applicable
All hands-on skills must be completed in person using the required training equipment under instructor supervision.
Step 6: Certification Verification
Your certification will only be considered complete after we verify that you have successfully completed all required components:
-
The official AHA HeartCode online course
-
The HeartCode completion certificate
-
The supplemental Zoom review, when included with your registration
-
The required in-person Skills Session
-
The Skills Testing Checklist
-
The required examination or quiz
Your AHA eCard will be issued or confirmed only after all applicable course requirements have been completed and verified.
Important Notice
The Zoom review is supplemental and does not replace any required American Heart Association course component. Students who do not complete their required in-person Skills Session and testing are not considered fully certified.

Does it matter what state/city it says on my certification?

For American Heart Association certifications, the state or city listed on the card does not affect its validity and does not matter. Your certification is nationally and internationally recognized, regardless of the location shown on your card.
